Skala Bakery

Lucia's Fine Foods

You may have heard of a little café by the name of Lucia’s – located in Adelaide’s celebrated Central Market.

Back on 1957 Lucia Rosella introduced market-goers to Italian cooking and it wasn't long before customers soon started asking to take home her napoletana sauce. Now Simon Bugeja and his team are producing sauces that are in demand all over the world.

Lucia's tomato based products are only made seasonally over the summer months while South Australian tomatoes are at their best, ensuring freshness, quality and most importantly a unique and fresh tomato flavour.

L'Abruzzese Pasta

L'Abruzzese was established 40 years ago in South Australia by a family originally from the Abruzzo region in Italy. Their passion for the superb quality and taste of homemade pasta culminated in what is still today one of the most authentic artisan pasta produced in Australia. To this days the passion continues. They produce artisan pasta by using traditional methods, bronze dies and the very best Australian Durum Wheat Semolina, recognised worldwide as one of the best for its hardness, nutritional qualities and purity.

Crack Kitchen

Crack Kitchen Café was established in the prominent former Bank of Adelaide building in Franklin Street, Adelaide in 2016. The owners are South Australian and have owned cafes in Adelaide since 2007, commencing coffee roosting in 2012.  

Crack Kitchen roasts ethically sourced and seasonally roasted coffee in house on our 360kg ‘Probat’ coffee roaster which is located on the mezzanine level of the building, which overlooks the café on the ground floor. 

San Jose Smallgoods

José Coutinho, with over 30 years’ experience producing artisan salumi, founded San José Smallgoods in 2006. 

At the core of San José philosophy is an absolute passion for producing uniquely exceptional products and José’s staunch refusal to compromise on quality. José uses fresh pork, exclusively from South Australian farmers, including totally free-range paddock roaming, female heritage Black Pigs.


HARK!

Sam McKay and Theophilus Engela use air to roast their coffee with the coffee beans levitating in a fluid-like motion on a bed of hot air. Their method ensures a meticulously consistent smooth dark roast with body. It means rich, fragrant nectar in every cup.

HARK! coffee pods are 100% plant based compostable.

Bickford's

Bickford’s is one of Australia’s oldest and most treasured brands. Founded over 175 years ago they remain an Australian family owned and managed business, with their head office and operations centre based in Adelaide.

Bickford’s is one of the few bottling companies in the world to have invested in sterile filtration technologies. This means they can produce a number of products that are free of preservatives and do not need to be pasteurised.

Mushroom Man

Marco Marinelli's The Mushroom Man’s Mushroom Shop is all about mushrooms. His success is based on 30 years of family history within the Central Market. He specialises in exotics and truffles and truffle oils.

La Vera

La Vera was established by the Marmorale family in 1984 and can be found in the back streets of suburban Newton. Pino, wife Giovanna and their daughters Lucy and Sabrina are all involved in the successful family business which makes handmade cheeses from bocconcini to pecorino, parmesan and blue varieties.

La Vera uses locally-sourced cows’ milk from Dakara Farms at Murray Bridge and uses traditional recipes and techniques.

OmMade Organic Skincare

Inspired to create natural skin care alternatives, OmMade was launched by Tina Walsh in 2013.

Based on the belief ‘if you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin’, all products are 100% natural and certified 100% palm oil free. With no water in the products, they have a long shelf life without the need for preservatives. It also means that a little goes a long way.

Eco-friendly packaging combined with small batch manufacturing also helps to make a difference environmentally. 

Gemma Vendetta

Gemma Vendetta Cosmetics was created in 2016 by founder Gemma Vendetta. 

Gemma believes that a pure and natural approach to makeup doesn’t mean compromising on quality. Her products are 100% certified cruelty free and are free from animal derived, or animal by-products, this includes no palm oil.

Made without nano-particles, harmful fillers and binders. Gemma Vendetta Cosmetics are also free from gluten, paragons, synthetic fragrances and mineral oils.
